Chiropody and Podiatry Services

About Me
Carol Black BSc (Hons)
Member of The College of Podiatry and Registered with Health & Care Professions Council
I have been registered with the Health and Care Professions Council since 2000 and graduated from Queen Margaret University College in 2001 with an Honours Degree in Podiatry. Since then I have worked in private practice in Edinburgh where I undertook domicillary work as well as working from a clinical base. During this time I also worked with the Scottish Youth Football Association and two professional football clubs treating sports injuries to the feet and lower limbs. Throughout my career I have ensured that I undertake CPD and attend The College of Podiatry's conferences and relevant training courses. I undertake the full range of chiropody and podiatry treatments and always take a holistic approach to my work to ensure the best possible outcome for the patient.
How I work
My business operates on a home visit basis. I charge a flat rate payment of £45 for all services, however there would be an additional charge for insoles and orthosis. Appointments are scheduled for 1 hour. Given the current Covid 19 situation I will ensure that I wear all the appropriate PPE and observe all current Scottish Government's guidelines and advice from The College of Podiatry.

Covid 19 Update 4 January 2021

The following is an excerpt from the College of Podiatry's guidance to all Podiatrists in Scotland dated 4 January 2021 confirming that I can continue to treat patients during the lockdown period
College update following the announcment of a new lockdown in Scotland from 5 January 2021
The Scottish Government has announced that from Tuesday 5 January, mainland Scotland will move from Level 4 to a temporary lockdown, except for essential purposes.
The temporary lockdown will remain in place until 31 January but may continue after that time.
Healthcare is not affected, meaning that podiatrists can continue to work. Podiatrists can continue with home visits and treating patients in nursing homes. Patients can still travel for their healthcare needs.
Podiatrists can treat all Red, Amber and Green patients. Priority should be given to Red and Amber patients as much as possible.

What a difference after Carol made orthoses that I use in my running shoes. So much more comfortable.
